BC Glacial History
The last Glaciation Period in BC, known as the Fraser Glaciation, began in the Pleistocene period, about 30,000 years ago. The ice emerged slowly from the mountains, taking 5,000 years to progress into the Fraser Valley. The temperatures increased 11,000 years ago, and the glacier receeded, exposing beautifully polished stones. Floods ensued, covering up these pure natural treasures until our Fraser Valley Glacial stone deposit was uncovered in 2021.
